Some things to consider while using your candles:
Wick trimming is important!
Before lighting the candle for the first time. It is recommended that you trim the wick before each burn. Trimming the wick to ¼” will give you the best burn time for the life of the candle. Wicks that are left untrimmed can produce a smoky effect, be messy and burn faster. They can also cause soot and a residue to form on the side of the vessel.
When lighting your candle for the first time let the candle burn a good 3 to 4 hours allowing the wax pool to reach the sides of the glass. This is very important and an absolute must for your first burn. Wax actually has a ‘memory’! The size of the wax pool on the initial burn is largely the size of the wax pool from that point forward. By allowing the candle to burn 3 to 4 hours you can prevent the candle from tunneling and create an even burn for the life of the candle.
Never leave a candle unattended; and you should always keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
Keep your candle out of drafts this can increase its burn time, allow the scent to remain intact, prevent uneven burning, smoking and accidental fires.
Keep the candle wax free from the wick trims, matches or other debris at all times. Never leave a burning candle on or near anything that can catch fire such as furniture, drapes, books, paper, or other flammable material.
Avoid placing your candle where they will be exposed to direct sunlight or harsh indoor lighting. Candles may fade if they are left in a bright light for an extended period of time.
Allow the candle to cool completely before handling. Make sure the candle is put out before leaving the home or going to sleep.
Never burn a candle all the way down once the wick tab can be seen. Make sure you put the candle out so it does not get too close to the container. Failure to do this can allow the flame to become dangerous and potentially cause the glass to shatter.
After you put the candle out and it has cooled completely down place the lid back on the candle. This will allow the candle to keep its cold throw contained and any dust or particles out of your candle so it does not become a fire hazard.
